Ode to A Beautiful Girl

Your magnificent eyes, dark emeralds aflame
Your silky bronzed hair, still perfect in rain
The way you walk, a light antelope in prance
So cheerful and happy, ever ready to dance
Your lithe Brazilian figure, I marvel through the days
How beautiful you do become, in the wondrous sunshine rays
On those rare moments, when your eyes meet mine
I feel a warm pleasure and a chill down my spine
When I hear your sweet laughter, a melodious tune
I feel alive, full of joy; I could fly to the moon
I sit idly nigh always wishing you'd see
Perhaps even come and sit down next to me
I watch how you smile, and send jolts through my heart
Your sensual features a fine work of art
Sometimes I watch the evening's amber sun
And I calm myself down, from thoughts weighing a tonne
The soothing orange invigorates my mind
As do you, always so kind

literature of the World Project by Royales, Erwin O.

I: Introduction
The author of this poem is Bryan Thao Worra, half American and half Laos,           attitudes gives significances to all realization, taking on the right and then to the other side, making everything. Memories not to be ended but continually progressing, hence, may some come back, loss and gain again, sometime were on the top but thus is permanent well all go down.-this the cycle. .Law of balance. How memories did permit such things? Is it to remember bad things or good things?
II: The literary piece (poem)

RAVEN REMEMBERS

Blackbirds in a cold war
Filled my skies for a lifetime:
Freedom, death, life, hope
Screeching from the shadows

Secrets in the eye of the beholder
A world of strange love and full metal jackets:
A round of drinks in a Saigon bar
Or among the Hmong Mountain bears
And a round of ammunition for the cannons-
Who had time for cannons and guided missiles?

Seeing so much, seeing so little
Gaining nothing, giving everything
Smashed like a shot glass in the name of policy
Screwed to an ejection seat built by the lowest contact bidder
Forbidden by the rules of engagement that made more widows
Than I want to remember.

How many times did I see the Missing Man
Missing you, praying the enemy would be missing me?
Was I missing the point in trying to stay until all of our friends could leave
When we weren’t even supposed to be there at all?
The song of neutrality in the season of extremes
Drew fire from the ground, a volcano of hate from strangers
Who didn’t even know what they were dying for.
Who were they dying for in this puppet game?

A bear? A dragon? Old Ho Chi Minh and his trail in the kingdom of Elephants?

It’s just a road, it’s just a mountain, it’s just rock.
But it’s not just a village filled with children,
Grandmothers and grand fathers who didn’t understand
What we were fighting over
And now, I wonder, who really understood at all?

Centuries ago, raven brought light into the world –a white trickster burnt black by the trip

The bird of prophets, whispering wisdom in the ears of ancient Greeks and old one eyed Odon. Drawing life, the strength to fly from the dead
And everything everyone else abandoned.
Defending those who could not defend themselves,
Raven remembers, Raven remembers.
Raven remembers and fought and circled and saw.
Raven saw the road breaks.
Raven saw the hearts and minds won and lost.
Raven saw the refugees amid the warriors and the last,
Raven knew. Unarmed obsolete and
Unarmed, like a knight, without question,
Raven never looked back as he dove toward the enemy-
The snakes in the tiger grass, calling for death, watching his brothers
Fall from the sky, one by one, captured, crippled or dying in everything but their hearts
That dared to believe in the power of freedom, the power of the future
The dream of the day when they would raise their drinks with the words
“Nevermore” as they nailed the damned lid on the coffin of war.

III: Literary analysis (elements/approach)
Language:
Languge was incomparably used, the author uses such hard words to express his thought in his piece, thus greater comprehension and deeper understanding was the requirement in this kind of poem to appreciate the message.
Tone:
Modes of the author seems that its a combination of sad and good mood that changes drastically depending on the line construction, emotions greatly affects the readers that the author relates himself in doing his work.
Imagery:
Author makes his work very creative, applying all the principle of imagery. Giving emphasize to his message by mixing it with concrete words and thoughts. That makes the reader to visualize he image he had created in the work.
Sound and Rhythms:
Lines was made more simplier but with the side effects of to much deeper meanings, structures to be observe has the rhythmic alliteration making it more easier to designates sounds and the tones of the poem.
Thoughts and Meanings:
In our life nothing was permanent, all many leave and gone. But is the only permanent thing in this world. Remembering what had happened in the past is not good it is better to apply the lesson you had learned from it, to make you more stronger

IV: Conclusion
The poem is very deep meaning, that many couldn’t understand, so much thing remembering was just likes raven that passes only on one thing leasing without going back but lefts memories that couldn’t easily to forget.

By the side of a stream running full
There is a field, large and wide.
At the first light of the day
A burly yet handsome farmer
Full of vigor and confidence
Is ploughing his field.
Day after day in his field
With his oxen he works
With ardent zeal and without feeling tired
And finding joy in his work

Elastic and firm
His so pleasant to see
In a field of emerald green
The handsome body of this well-built man
Steadfastly staying with his ground
This farmer tries to work hard
With his oxen who are his friends
In the hope of doing good for his country
He is a real son of his land
His ploughed furrows are the furrows of his country
Each drop of his sweat is gem of his land
His strength is his country’s strength
                                                                                       Never sky-gazing
Never cane worn and executing indifference
This farmer is a true son of his soil
His attention strays not
From the plot of land new works
This soil is his universe
This soil is his Nirvana

Love’s Secrets
                Katherine Neville Fleeson

Love’s Secrets
There was once a poor woodsman, who went to the jungle to cut wood, so he might sell it and buy food for his wife and child. And upon a day, when the cool evening had come, wearied, the man lay down to rest and fell into a deep sleep.

From his home in the sky, the god who looks after the destiny of man was hot-hearted18 when he saw the man did not move, and he came down to see if he were dead. When he spake in the wood-cutter’s ear, he awoke and arose, and the fostering god led him home. As they came near the gate, the god said, “Stand here, whilst I go and see to the welfare of thy wife.” Listening without, the god heard the fond wife say to the little child, “I fear some evil hath befallen thy kind father. Ever doth he return as it darkens about us.”
The god knew from her words that the wife was good, and taught the child love and reverence for its father, therefore was he pleased, and returning to the woodsman, sent him in haste to his home, and said, “I, myself, will lay the wood in its place.”
102
The next morning, when the eye of day opened, the fond wife went for wood to build a fire that her husband might eat of hot food ere he went to his daily labor, and, lo, when she saw the wood which her husband had brought home, all was turned into gold! Thus had the cherishing god rewarded a husband faithful in his work, and a wife loving and thoughtful.
Leaving the house of the worthy woodsman, the god met a man tardily wending his way home with a small, poorly-made bundle of sticks. Approaching him, the god said, “Wait at the steps. I will go first and see how it is with thy wife.” And the god went up unseen, and heard the wife say to her son, “Ever is it thus. Thy father thinks naught of us; he stays away so he need be with us but little.”
Sadly the god returned to the laggard, took the bundle from him, and bade him go to his wife and child, saying he would put the wood in its place.
Late the following day, long after the husband had gone to his work, the wife went for some wood, and, lo, found all the wood had turned to venomous snakes! Then was she afraid, and she grew kinder of heart and strove to make her husband better and happy.
