Introduction

The term paper include one of the literary piece of Burma which its title “The People Vs the Regime” by Van Biak Tang. This is a poem where in tell about the political or ruling system of a nation or a country and their relationship to the people.
This term paper gave the student knowledge not only in reading, writing, talked about Philippine Literature but will also find pleasure in the study of it.

Literary APPROACH

The poem that I’ve chosen is the people vs. regime is a kind of contemporary Approach which is Marxist criticism, because it tells about the relationship between literature and political struggle. Regime is a political or ruling system and under of it is the people.
The content of every stanza of the poem is the difference of what people and regime do. The writer wrote this poem to inform us that the politics used their power in a wrong way and didn’t do their responsibilities.
The last part of it is tells people hope and wish for the regime fluctuate.

Van Biak Thang
Chinland Guardian

The people made their own choices
And sent their voices
In a peaceful way;
The regime broke their promises
And signalled their forces
In their martial way.

The people stood up for their rights
And showed their plights,
United as one;
The regime turned their deaf ears
And gave their orders
With many a gun.

The people lifted their spirits
And bore their tenets
With a goal common;
The regime preyed on the nation
And put in prison
Without a reason.

The people still hope for changes
And wait in firmness,
O For their Pure Union!
The regime till today betray
And rule the play,
O The same old Bright Sun!

CONCLUSION

Doing this project is not easy especially in sending it in blog. While I render this term paper I feel nervous because I don’t know if it is good or not. But when I finish this, I feel the pleasure. Although there was little disappointment because I pass this project in long period of time though when we go to computer shop the weather is not good.
